First Resources Corporation is seeking a motivated and dedicated Training and Development Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for employee training and development. This position is essential in the overall success of the organization and requires high level of accountability. Responsible for increasing the company's productivity by teaching new skills and knowledge to employees, allowing them to reach their full potential. They will work closely with the Human Resources and Quality Assurance department, to assure agency compliance with Federal and State regulations pertaining to personnel matters.Essential Job Functions:
- Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses.
- Translate requirements into training that will groom employees for the next step of their career path.
- Build/create annual training program and prepare teaching plans.
- Develop or oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials and manuals.
- Stay up to date with new trends and tools for employee development.
- Work closed with management and supervisors to assess the training needs of individual departments.
- Schedule training sessions to minimize disruption to normal working, while ensuring that employees achieve the levels of skill necessary for their jobs.
- Is a backup to training and guiding new employees during new hire orientation and transitioning within the agency.
- Is a backup Track and maintains CEU's database.
- Is a backup Monitor and evaluate new hire and transitioning employee progress and development by implementing evaluation and proficiency assessments process that are consistent with agency appraisal, development and feedback standards.
- Develop positive relationships with employees; promote direct communication and positive rapport between employees and supervisors. Build effective relationships with employees that will maximize an employee's likeness to be successful, including building natural support within the workplace.
- Be able to assess trainees' understanding and progress and make any necessary adjustments to the program.
- Provide constant contact with new and transitioning employees to ensure agency standards are met.
- Assist with the research of employee relations practices necessary to maintain employee/employer relationships.
- Assist with the creating, communication and rollout of updated or new procedures and policies.
- Provide timely clerical support to the Human Resources Director, as needed. Provide assistance to the Chief Operating Officer when necessary.
- Design programs using techniques such as classroom learning, demonstrations, one-on-one coaching, seminars, lectures, team exercises or online learning.
- Prepare hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos and presentations.
- Track and maintain all training, certificates and reports and input data into agency database.
- Evaluate the outcomes of training sessions and maintain records of trainees' progress and achievements.
- Monitor training costs against budgets and ensure they make the most efficient use of company resources.
- Responsible to maintain the highest level of confidentiality always.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and work effectively with people.
- Ability to travel at least 40% of the time and to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and/or events.
- Ability to be flexible as the job may require late working hours outside of the normal business hours or filling vacant shifts.
- Performs other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position, as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field, otherwise education with relevant experience will be considered.
- Prior two-years' experience in HR setting.
- Must have access to a telephone.
- Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
- Knowledge of the latest corporate training techniques.
- Excellent presentation skills to present training programs.
- Ability to embrace rapid change, meet multiple demands simultaneously and efficiently with little supervision.
- The ability to clearly communicate in oral and written fashion is required. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
- The Trainer will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
- The Trainer may be located in a busy, open area office, and will be faced with regular interruptions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be willing to use personal vehicle when needed for work-related events and must be willing to transport members in personal or company vehicle when needed.
- Have the ability to travel independently, extensively in and outside the community and access a variety of offices.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
- Successfully complete the new hire orientation checklist.
- Satisfactorily attend all required trainings mandated by programming and the organization.
- Successfully complete the established medication administration training and pass medications accordingly.
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the initial 30 days of employment, and actively maintain certification throughout employment.
- Must have valid driver's license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company's insurance.
- Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
