Salary and Benefits Information Salary: $44,948 - $65,000 Benefits: Generous benefits include health benefits (medical, prescription, dental, flexible spending accounts), Retirement (State or Optional Retirement Plan with Fidelity or TIAA), Supplemental Retirement Accounts (TIAA, Fidelity, or MSRP-Nationwide) with $600 annual state match, Life Insurance (state sponsored MetLife, USM sponsored MetLife Plan, life insurance and long-term disability insurance), Tuition Remission, Employee Assistance Program, paid holidays, paid leave (Exempt positions start at 22 days annual and sick leave 15 days per year, personal leave 3 days per year) Position Overview The Training and Technical Program Assistant will be expected to provide professional development and coaching support for organization-wide positive behavior through a State grant with the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (MD DDA). The Training and Technical Program Assistant will play a vital role in delivering professional development and coaching provided to Maryland organizations that provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and related needs including cooccurring mental illness. Additionally, the person in this position will coordinate UMES grant related activities and work closely with grant partners from MD DDA, Sheppard Pratt (SP), and the University of Minnesota Institute of Community Integration (UMN ICI). Responsibilities Training and Ongoing Coaching/Technical Assistance Shadow the training process for each level of team training (e.g., Tier 1 and Advanced Tier Organization-wide PBS). Develop independence in delivering team training. Provide ongoing on-site and virtual coaching and technical assistance to participating organizations. Participate in monthly to bi-weekly program meetings with SP and MD DDA regional staff. Work closely with MD DDA, SP, and UMN ICI to align program goals and objectives. Evaluation and Data Management: Conduct annual fidelity measures with participating organizations and grant partners. Assist organizations with annual data collection and analysis (e.g., evaluation plan related to outcomes). Identify ongoing and future evaluation needs related to the project's objective. Assist with managing the project database. Performs other related duties as assigned. Classification 25-0000 Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications Advanced degree in human services, education, public health, psychology, social work or related. Minimum of two to four years of experience in disability field with expertise in community living. Demonstrated experience in training and curriculum development and implementation as well as project management. Demonstrated experience working with persons with disabilities or in a disability related field using positive support practices. Demonstrated experience in providing professional development and coaching, preferably within the field of intellectual and development disabilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in disability field, including working knowledge of disability policy, programs, advocacy, Experience in multi-year training and technical assistance project development, execution and management. Experience editing training content for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and readability by various audiences . Experience implementing person centered practices and positive behavior support, and evaluating their impact within training frameworks. Ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently. Ability to support the development and maintenance of databases. Ability to travel throughout the region and other areas of Maryland (when needed). Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Skilled in training and curriculum development and implementation. Skilled in project management skills.
