CLASSIFICATION TITLE:TRAINING ASSISTANTSALARY:$40,037.09 - $51,784.63DEPARTMENT:Human ResourcesOpening Date:10/25/2023Closing Date:11/07/2023FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt - overtime paid pursuant to Human Resources policyEMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary periodGENERAL SUMMARYUnder direction, supports Macomb County's countywide training and development program activities through providing administrative support tasks associated with program administration.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESOrganizes the training schedule including the coordination of countywide training classes, participant lists, completion, reporting, paperwork via interoffice mail and email, training materials, invoicing and data entry into the Learning Management System (LMS).Coordinates countywide training programs, arranging venues, setting up training rooms, working with selected vendors, technology, ordering training materials, shopping and other functions.Assists with document processing, including but not limited to, making copies, collating, building educational binders/handouts.Organizes and restocks conference and training rooms, refilling supplies, and performing light custodial tasks as needed to keep these areas clean and well-kept.Participates in the evaluation of performance and effectiveness of training programs, including recommendations for improvement.Obtains, organizes, and develops training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.Organizes training sessions with administrative support and record trainee attendance.Collects, reviews, and enters training information and data into the current Learning Management System in a timely and accurate manner.Reviews, assesses, and recommends training courses and videos for appropriateness, applicability and need.Generates training reports to support departmental needs.Assists in providing certification documentation upon request.Performs a variety of administrative and or clerical support activities.Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.Performs related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDPreferred Education and ExperienceAssociate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Human Services, Education or a related field from an accredited college or universityPrevious experience providing administrative support to a training and development program is preferredRequired Licenses or CertificationsPossession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travelCOMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIESKnowledge of:Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods and techniquesMicrosoft Office and Google products, such as Googledocs and GooglesheetsVarious and specialty data processing computer systems, including Workday, Powerpoint, Canva and Presidio.Skill in:Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsInterpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with employees, Department Heads, elected officials and vendorsExercising independent judgment and ini
