Position Summary
This position is responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the GW Department of Emergency Medicine Training Center (GWDEMTC). The position will also be responsible for maintaining relationships between the MFA and the governing bodies of all curricula being taught through the GWDEMTC and all of reporting, archiving, research and course efficacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
* Oversees day-to-day operations of the GWDEMTC.
* Ensures that all conducted training and recordkeeping adhere to the published guidelines of the curriculum's governing body.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for clients and coworkers, including responding to phone calls and emails that reference training courses.
* Provides for the security and legitimate distribution of certification cards/credentials in a timely manner.
* Maintains Training Center and Training Site (subsidiary) records, including issuing Training Site cards, formal affiliation, and instructor status.
* Prepares annual reports for the AHA, NAEMT, and ACS documenting training activity.
* Supports EMS and team, government contract in Kuwait and will require some travel.
* Sets quality assurance goals and monitors the progress of staff and courses.
* Prepares and tracks payments to vendors and contract employees in a timely manner.
* Determines prices for courses and contracts as needed.
* Supervises support personnel in the planning, scheduling, and delivery of courses and maintenance of essential course equipment to achieve training goals for all governing bodies.
* Provides oversight, guidance, and discipline for GWDEMTC support staff consistent with the guidelines of the MFA and the GWDEMTC Policy & Procedure Manual.
* Facilitates all appropriate interdisciplinary offerings of continuing medical education courses as requested.
* Ensures timely delivery of quality contracted services and programs of scale.
* Provides relevant support, oversight, and/or planning for other training initiatives undertaken by the Department of Emergency Medicine.
* Collaborates to market the GWDEMTC and promotes the growth of all EMED programs locally, nationally, and internationally.
Qualifications
Education
* Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
* Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider certification or higher (i.e. National Registry EMT -Paramedic/-Intermediate, Registered Nurse, etc.)
Experience
* A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience as an ALS provider with 5 consecutive years of clinical experience.
* Valid and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor certifications with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in each discipline through the AHA.
* Training Center Coordinator (AHA) and Program Coordinator (ACS) eligibility is required.
* AMLS and PHTLS instructor certifications and experience are preferred.
