Responsible for conducting client trainings, project management, document preparation, reports, travel, meeting with government and regulatory officials, overseeing and running field crews of 10 - 15 manual laborers, and management of universal waste and hazardous materials.Essential duties
- Lead virtual training of the handling and packaging of hazardous materials.
- Communicating topics centered around personal protective equipment, emergency response scenarios, compliance with national and international regulatory frameworks, technical documentation and packaging/labeling.
- Assisting clients in complying with national and international regulations for various programs.
- Completing projects in compliance with complex international regulatory frameworks.
- Completing environmental reports and other technical documents.
- Assisting clients in complying with local, regional, state, federal and international regulations for various programs.
- Assisting clients in the preparation and management of state, federal and international hazardous waste field services projects.
- Assisting in coordinating shipping, packaging, and logistics for international imports, exports, and intrastate movements of hazardous waste and dangerous goods.
Position requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Organized and competent with Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to interact with many different types of individuals, including executives, scientists, engineers, and other business professionals.
- Strong technical writing and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions.
- Project management experience.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- At least 3 years full-time related experience since college.
- Position will require 10% of field work mostly outside the US for up to 14 days at a time. Must be willing to travel to Africa, Middle East, Asia, Eastern and Western Europe and Latin America locations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Position will require occasional night shifts, to cover international virtual trainings.
Other desirable skills
- Logistics experience.
- Audio/Video production experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Working conditions
- Some job functions are performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc.
- The job requires domestic and international travel for up to 14 days at a time. International travel is a requirement with a particular focus on Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Field work requires significant physical exertion, including sitting, standing, heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work is performed indoors and outdoors around machinery and forklifts. Some tasks may require exposure to dampness, heat, humidity, or cold temperatures. Work on ladders, elevated platforms and slippery uneven surfaces may be required.
