Summary:
The Training Specialist will support the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific (EWTGPAC) by developing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality training programs for Navy and Marine Corps personnel. This includes designing and maintaining curricula, providing instructor development, and managing training systems to support various Programs of Instruction (POIs) such as Expeditionary Logistics, Joint Fires, Fires Support Marine Pipeline, Marine Amphibious Raid, and Tactical Air Programs.
The Training Specialist will ensure compliance with Naval Education and Training (NAVEDTRA) standards, Marine Corps' Systems Approach to Training (SAT) Manual, and Navy/Marine Corps Instructions (NAVMC) and Orders (MCO). This position is critical to enhancing operational readiness in a dynamic, integrated Navy/Marine Corps training environment. This position is contingent upon successful contract proposal submission and award.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all training materials conform to NAVEDTRA manuals (13X series), Marine Corps SAT Manual, NAVMC 1553X series, and MCO 1553X series
- Develop and update curricula for basic to advanced training programs, including Expeditionary Logistics, Joint Fires, Fires Support Marine Pipeline, Marine Amphibious Raid, and Tactical Air Programs of Instruction.
- Perform routine updates to ensure curricula reflect evolving operational needs and emerging technologies.
- Enter and manage curriculum data in the Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) and Marine Corps Training Instructional Management System (MCTIMS).
- Deliver classroom-based and virtual instruction using tools such as the Marine Corps Simulation and Analysis Tool (MSAT) and Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE).
- Train military instructors on AIM and MCTIMS systems, ensuring proficiency in command-directed authoring systems.
- Evaluate instructor performance, provide constructive feedback, and improve instructional effectiveness.
- Represent the command at conferences and meetings under the cognizance of the N9 Learning Standards Directorate.
- Provide expertise in developing professional, complete, and standardized instructional products.
- Independently plan, schedule, and execute training programs to meet objectives within designated timelines.
- Run reports and manage data in Navy and Marine Corps training databases, including the Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource System (CeTARs) and MCTIMS.
- Submit After-Action Reports (AARs) and other documentation to assess and improve training program effectiveness.
- Adapt training materials to reflect the impact of emerging technologies on Programs of Instruction.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance training programs and address future requirements.
- Support occasional travel to training sites within the Southwest region.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
- Graduation from Navy and Marine Corps Basic Instructor and Curriculum Development Courses.
- Extensive knowledge of USMC/USN instructional practices and integrated training environments.
- Proven experience as an Instructor with Expeditionary/Joint Fires, including roles as a Curriculum Developer, Curriculum Administrator, and Instructor.
- Proficiency in managing and updating curricula in AIM and MCTIMS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to train military instructors in command-directed authoring systems (AIM/MCTIMS).
- Strong judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to adapt training to evolving technology and operational needs.
- Experience representing commands in professional settings, such as N9 Learning Standards Directorate meetings.
- Ability to operate independently, planning and executing projects while delivering standardized instructional products.
- Proficiency in running reports and managing data using CeTARs and MCTIMS.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 5%) within a 50-mile radius to support training missions.
- Active SECRET clearance
Preferred:
- Experience with simulation tools such as MSAT, DVTE, or similar.
- Familiarity with NAVEDTRA standards, SAT Manual, and NAVMC/MCO 1553X series.
- Advanced expertise in analyzing and adapting curricula to integrate emerging technologies.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado with some travel required.
- Occasional travel (less than 5%) to support training within the Southwest region, often within a 50-mile commuting radius.
- May involve standing for long periods and lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Travel may include military or commercial aircraft.
