The Specialist functions semi-independently, under the direction of the Transfer Center administration as part of the integrated healthcare team. The Transfer Center Specialist will work to enter Epic referrals into About, preadmit send insurance verification to Patient Access, confirm all necessary components of referral are present and complete, document clear follow up for clinicians, answer phones, at time of patient acceptance confirms appropriate bed requests are placed, coordinates transport with PTC or otherwise appropriate entity, and ensures patient s timely arrival to inpatient unit. Knowledge and necessary skills will be utilized to effectively meet the needs of transfer process. Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public.
