An employee in this class also picks up parts from venders, runs errands necessary to support maintenance activities, and performs other related duties as assigned. Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications 1. Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the General Educational Development test (GED); AND Have a minimum of two (2) years full time work experience as a lead custodian, groundskeeper, maintenance coordinator or responsible position in a closely related field OR Have current status as a Muskegon Area Transit Bus Operator or Paratransit Operator.2. Possess a valid driver's license. Physical Conditions / Work Location PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESAn employee in this class must be in good physical condition such as to allow for medium to heavy work activity requiring the lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of objects weighing fifty (50) pounds or more and walking, standing, bending, or climbing for extended periods or time.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThis employee performs job duties in a variety of work locations including inside or outside of County buildings and facilities under all weather conditions. Additional Information EVALUATION CONTENTThe selected candidate must take a post-offer medical examination (including back screen and complete physical) and drug screening test given by a County appointed physician before the first day of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the medical examination and drug screening test. Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.
