Job Description:
Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) seeks a Transport Licensed Nursing Assistant (Transport LNA) for our Medical Surgical unit. The Transport LNA will assist Medical Surgical patients with transports to areas within the hospital such as to Diagnostic Imaging for testing, the main entrancefor discharge, etc.), transportation of items and specimens to other areas of the hospital (such as specimens to the laboratory) and obtain patients weights at the start of the shift. The Transport LNA will support the Medical Surgical Department by performing clinical and non-clinical duties within their scope of practice when not performing transportation-specific tasks. #What you#ll do day-to-day: Patient Transportation: Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure timely patient transportation for scheduled testing, utilizing safe body mechanics and proper transfer techniques while maintaining infection prevention measures. Patient Care: Assist patients with personal care needs, collect vital data (weights, vital signs, intake/output), and deliver care that respects their spiritual, physical, and psychosocial needs while ensuring a safe environment. LNA Duties: Document all patient care and data in the electronic medical record, assist with room setup for admissions and discharges, and demonstrate proficiency in medical equipment used on the medical-surgical floor. Operational Support: Provide administrative support by answering phones and relaying messages, keeping the Nursing Director informed of unit issues, participating in unit improvement initiatives, and assisting with supply restocking.
