Job description for an operations position in a transportation department, responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and performing clerical duties.As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation department. Your duties will include:Gathering, organizing, and processing driver daily paperwork, logs, manifest, and vehicle inspection reports.Providing exceptional customer service by answering phones, routing calls, and taking messages.Researching operation challenges, ordering supplies, and liaising between the office and operations teams.Responding to delivery associate issues and providing support for resolution.Processing inbound freight paperwork weekly and serving as the primary contact for any inbound freight issues.Running daily reports for operations supervisors, including observations and vehicle tracking.Performing other tasks as assigned by supervision or management.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required.2 years of prior customer service experience preferred.2 years' experience in a high-volume, route delivery operation preferred.Preferred qualifications:Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets our company's insurability standards.Strong leadership, analytical, and motivational skills.Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations.Proficient written and verbal communication skills.Expertise in Windows operating system and utilizing Excel and Word.Understanding of Manpower scheduling.Physical demands:Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.Close vision and distance vision required.
