Performs at the full-performance level in a district or division storeroom. Steps, processes and methods are related within the job duties. This position is required to recognize the existence of and differences among a few easily recognizable situations. Alternative choices may be available throughout an assignment. Analysis of subject matter is conducted, and decisions are made based on those results. Interrelationships are identified using analysis and decision-making skills. Performs related duties as required.Pay Grade 11T0148N Typical Duties and Responsibilities• Performs purchasing, receiving, storing, and dispersing of supplies, materials, parts, and equipment.• Reconciles physical and documented inventories.• Expedites the purchases of emergency supplies and equipment.• Monitors volume of parts, equipment, and supplies to ensure adequate stock is on hand.• Types and/or composes purchase orders, correspondence, memoranda and reports.• Checks purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and clarity; corrects any ambiguities in purchase orders and adds needed information.• Solicits bids from vendors for materials and/or equipment.• Enters information into spreadsheets, databases, and REMIS.• Uses computer databases to input data, track and check inventory levels, and track status of orders and payments.• Responsible for making purchases using State P-Card.• Purchases and distributes supplies and equipment to all county storerooms, districts, equipment, bridge, sign shops, and Interstate organizations.• Performs analysis of computer inventory printouts with receipts, reports and files.• Load and unload pipe and steel.• May require a certification as a certified loader and may be certified in Herbicide.• Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver's license is required. Required Skills and Knowledge• Knowledge of state and agency purchasing regulations and protocols.• Knowledge of state, federal, and agency conflict of interest and ethics standards.• Knowledge of clerical and storeroom methods and procedures.• Knowledge of transportation and shipping methods and procedures.• Knowledge of safe handling procedures for equipment and materials involved.• Knowledge of various types of grades of equipment and supplies used by the agency.• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and/or bookkeeping.• Knowledge of different types of state database software.• Ability to compare materials and supplies with prescribed specifications.• Ability to assign and review clerical procedures in the invoices, transfers, and other information.• Ability to safely perform moderately heavy manual labor in lifting and storing materials and/or equipment.• Ability to operate a forklift may be required for some positions.• Ability to work with numbers and perform close detailed review of merchandise and documents.• Ability to type accurately.• Ability to use a computer and calculator. Required Education and ExperienceREQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a stock clerk or, in a clerical capacity in connection with storeroom or warehouse operations, bookkeeping, accounting, timekeeping, purchasing, inventory work, or handling materials.
  • Substitution: Successful completion of coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience through an established formula.
