PD&E Project Manager PE / AICP - Tampa, Orlando, or Tavares, FL

Halff has an opening for a Roadway Engineer or Certified Planner, with their Florida PE License or Florida AICP Certification, to be a Project Manager in our Tampa, Orlando, or Tavares, FL office. The ideal candidate would have at least 7 years of experience conducting and managing Project Development & Environmental (PD&E) studies in the Central Florida region. There is upward mobility available to be a Team leader, Director and/or Practice leader with sufficient experience. Halff's Transportation services safely move people, vehicles and freight using multimodal applications ranging from roadways (local roads to interstate highways), transit and active transportation projects from initial planning through final design. The complete project development process includes responsive planning and design such as geometrics and storm drainage. It incorporates technology and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to relay roadway information and communication. Finally, it brings transit planning and design to the forefront.

PD&E Project Manager PE / AICP - Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall management of projects, preparation of reports and studies, and direction of staff to complete PD&E projects with minimal supervision.
  • Works under a Team Leader in the development of Florida PD&E Studies
  • Manages PD&E projects or tasks in support of business needs
  • Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EI's, and technical staff
  • Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Project controls updates and progress reports
  • Collaborates with clients and other consultants
  • Assists with business development activities

PD&E Project Manager PE / AICP Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or Project Development and Environmental Studies or ABET accredited equivalent degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience conducting and managing PD&E Studies in the State of Florida, experience in Central Florida preferred
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License OR Florida AICP Certification
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the NEPA, state environmental and Florida PD&E requirements
  • Knowledge of the Environmental and Public Involvement activities required for PD&E Studies
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Experience managing projects, schedules, and budgets
  • Work with Statewide team to support business development and marketing efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with PD&E clients
