This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Management Center Field Technician-I for our Hawthorne, New York office. Field technicians assist NYSDOT TMC Engineers in asset management and recordkeeping, troubleshooting ITS/Communications/Network failures that include upgrading, replacing, configuring, installing and repairing field devices; confirming functional and intended displays of DMS messages; investigating reports of equipment malfunctions; inventorying operations status of ITS equipment, ITS maintenance contractor oversight and coordination.
Your Impact
* Candidates for this position shall be proficient in the following areas:
* Computer/Software including MS Office applications, spreadsheet and databases
* Plan and/or Schematic reading
* Perform field work on varying terrain and weather conditions
* Electronics troubleshooting and repair/replacement of electronic devices (modems, switches,
and routers)
* Valid driver's license.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Minimum 7 years of experience in a TMC operations center,
* Working and getting along with others in a team environment
* Troubleshooting, configuring and updating telecommunications, networking and information
technology systems
* Electrical safety and systems with knowledge of electrical codes and safe working practices
* Oral and written communication
* Wireless (radio and cellular) and fiber optic communications.
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology,
* Computer Science or Information Technology OR 2 years full-time employment meeting the
qualifying experience.
* Working and getting along with others in a team environment
* Troubleshooting, configuring and updating telecommunications, networking and information
technology systems
* Electrical safety and systems with knowledge of electrical codes and safe working practices
* Oral and written communication
* Wireless (radio and cellular) and fiber optic communications.

Expected Salary: $60,700 - $116,600
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
