Preferred Location: Charlotte, NC; Greensboro, NC; Raleigh, NC; Durham, NC; Atlanta, GA; Chesapeake, VA; Norfolk, VA (Or ability to travel to Charlotte, NC, and other sites, frequently)

**?The Transportation Manager will be responsible for direct leadership of our Global Transportation initiatives. This role will own and lead transportation cost reduction initiatives, on-time delivery, partner performance and improve transportation relationships. This problem solver, influencer, and corporate leader will have a rich work history in Supply Chain and Logistics Management in a Global Manufacturing setting and will be as effective building consensus at the plant level as at the corporate level.**

**?Key Responsibilities:**

-Develop and Implement Global Transportation Strategy across Safe Fleet

* Implement Freight Consolidation Strategy from Overseas supplier locations

* Implement Domestic Transportation Strategy for North American Safe Fleet Plants and Suppliers

**Relationships:**

-Support Plant Operations and Logistics on critical transportation timelines and initiatives

-Provide information to management on specific objectives

-Develops, builds and maintains long term partnerships and relationships

**Measures of Performance:**

-Global Transportation Consolidation Savings X%

-Domestic Transportation Savings X%

**Required Education, Experience and Skills**

-Bachelors degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Engineering or a similar field and 8+ years of supply chain experience, specifically in a transportation role with targeted work managing contract manufacturers

-Experience working with Global and Domestic Transportation Partners and systems

-Leadership across multiple functions as well as multiple facilities

-Experience using Lean Methodology processes in a manufacturing environment is a plus

-Database management, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills

-Coaching, mentoring and/or leadership experience a plus

-Good organization, project management and follow-through skills

-Ability to prioritize, multitask and act in a proactive manner

-ERP and Microsoft Excel experience

-Travel to vendor and Safe Fleet locations as required. Could exceed 50%
