Requires strong communication skills as well as knowledge of next day delivery operations. This role is responsible for building the culture of delivery standards and customer satisfaction metrics in the trade with off premise and on-premise accounts by ensuring drivers execute procedures according to company standards. Essential work duties include recruiting and training staff, responding to customer issues, optimizing the efficiency of routes, adhering to safety and compliance policies, and fostering a positive working environment. Must be familiar with routing software and DOT regulations.ResponsibilitiesPlanning:•Ability to identify and plan for staffing requirements based on knowledge of distribution. Has the ability to make decisions based on experience in delivery and transportation management. Ensures that procedures and processes match requirements of the operation. •Capability to train and implement new technology and processes while maintaining productivity.Leadership: •Should be detail-oriented problem-solvers who are able to employ leadership, critical thinking and time management skills and can work both independently and in teams. •Has the ability to Individually and collectively hold team accountable, reward and recognize, communicate and develop leaders. Able to direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.Customer Orientation:•Able to interact and engage with customers of all account types. •Should be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds, understand metrics of account performance and on time metrics and develop creative and innovative ways to improve business processes.Results Orientation:•Knowledge of diverse business processes in a wide range of functions within the organization•Business acumen and understanding of profit and loss Qualifications
    • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Accounting, Business or Logistics Management)
    • 3-5 years of direct supervisor level experience within a distribution environment
    • 5+ years transportation experience
    • 3-5 years of Supervision experience
    • Lean or Six Sigma Certification preferred
    • Roadnet experience preferred
    • Functional system understanding Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Ability to work non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights and weekends when required
    • 20% In-state travel requirement
    • Strong Communication skills - verbal, presentation, writing
    • Preferred: Next day delivery experience
