We are looking for a Transportation Specialist who will provide daily support to the Distribution Center to include but not limited to the Customer Service/Transportation/Shipping department and additional support to internal and external stakeholders and business partners. It is important to us that this person has the energy and desire to manage the execution of all activities that are deemed necessary to the position.Schedule: Night shift, 4-10 hour days Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm - 2 amStarting Salary: $40,000 + shift differentialThe notable responsibilities of the Transportation Specialist are:
  • Knowledge of Customer Service/Traffic policies and procedures
  • Processing all functions of Load Planning
  • Communicate with customers, account reps and carriers
  • Schedule appointments for collect carrier routings
  • Research customer/transportation issues
  • Dispatching outbound shipments
  • Assign waves to shipping lines
  • Resolve refused shipments
  • Manage recalls and Failed Customer orders
  • Resolve unrouted shipments
  • Small package Tracers
  • Expedite Shipments
  • Proof of Deliveries
  • Audit Shipping Documents
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Close loads and process paperwork
  • General filing and record keeping
  • Input needed info on all shipments, ie load numbers etc
  • Communicate requirements to production departments
  • Complete load sheets for dock personnel
  • Monitor completion of shipments for loading

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
    • SAP Skills
    • PowerPoint, Word, Excel -
    • Ability to multitask
  • Problem Solving skills
    • Strong communication skills, verbal, written and listening and ability to interface with a variety of individuals
    • Team Oriented, does not prejudge, understands, respects and values individuals and groups objectively. Ability to work with a diverse work force
    • Must demonstrate an energetic, positive, helpful demeanor and a passion and interest in LS & Co.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED
