EPR, P.C. (www.epr-pc.com) is seeking mid-career traffic/transportation engineer (EIT or PE) with a passion and skill for creating innovative studies and designs for a broad variety of project types in Virginia and mid-Atlantic. The position will work either from our Richmond or Charlottesville, Virginia office though, depending on qualifications, remote work from other Virginia locations is possible. Hybrid work is acceptable.

EPR is a twenty-person multidisciplinary Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) based in Virginia, known for its breadth of technical engineering and planning expertise in tackling challenging projects and delivering excellent work products to our clients. EPR primarily supports federal, state, regional, and local agencies, as well as the private sector, for transportation, land use, and community planning projects.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal EPR employee is a team oriented self-starter with an interest in applying creative approaches and industry guidelines to plan and design transportation improvements. The position requires experience working on some combination of state and local transportation planning and design projects. The ideal candidate will also have experience in traffic modeling using various software platforms and with design of traffic signalization, signing and marking, lighting, MOT, sidewalks and minor roadway design. Key knowledge and experience that we are seeking for this position include:

  • Traffic engineering analysis, safety studies, corridor studies, traffic impact studies
  • Bicycle/pedestrian/multimodal planning and design
  • Experience with civil engineering design, preferably including transportation/roads/traffic plans
  • Design of projects using state DOT processes and guidelines
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Working knowledge of Adobe suite (InDesign/Illustrator)
  • Working knowledge of GIS
  • Experience with MPO planning including long range transportation plans, SS4A plans, corridor plans, and multimodal plans
  • Experience managing complex engineering tasks and/or projects
