Duties may include but are not limited to ensuring excellent service; and supervising semi-skilled employees involving the management of receiving and storing, materials, supplies, and other goods as needed. In addition, responsible for managing the grounds and facilities.Supervision Received Direction received is very general and focuses on end results and is typically collaborative in nature. Makes decisions on technical issues, diagnoses, or procedures in collaboration with supervisors or managers.Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.Hires, trains, develops and supervises yard staff to meet departmental standards.Manages day-to-day operations of the yard, including managing and receiving materials, supplies, and other goods as needed.Directs staff to maintain grounds and facility; including, but not limited to ensuring garbage disposal from the facility, sweeping and mopping, ensuring the grounds are manicured and maintained, and organizing the set-up and breakdown of any facility events.Ensures excellent service is provided to customers.Provides direction to the team regarding duties and goals.Performs work assigned by the Facility Coordinator to ensure successful operation of the yard.Ensures a safe working environment is established and maintained.Decision Making May interpret organizational policies, recommend exceptions, and commit the department to action.Leadership Provided Has formal supervisory authority over the work group (typically at least 4-5 employees) to include discipline, performance management, scheduling, training, etc.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This is a partial listing of necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job successfully. It is not an exhaustive list. Knowledge of principles and practices of customer service; of principles and practices of supervisory methods. Skill in the use of computer, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other standard business software packages; in hiring, training, and managing staff to meet departmental objectives. Ability to: operate yard equipment required, loader and forklift; to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; to interact with internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
