Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, transports patients, clinical materials, and equipment throughout the Hospital and Professional Office Building. ACCOUNTABILITIES - All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise - 1. Transports, assists in lifting, turning and transferring patients from beds to applicable transportation equipment using appropriate lifting techniques with regard to the patient's condition and the equipment. All patients must be transported with Registered Nurse approval. 2. Cleans and assures the proper working order of transportation equipment after each use. Reports defects immediately and follows through to ensure the equipment is repaired and checked. 3. Monitors the patient's general conditions during transport and assuring their safety as appropriate. Maintains operation of any external support to patients, such as but not limited to oxygen delivery devices.
