Transporter- Full Time 1st Shift

Major Responsibilities: Transporters are responsible for providing and maintaining a safe environment for themselves, the patient, and their co-workers by following established policies and procedures. 1)Contact telemetry at time of move and completion. 2)Be able to complete CPR if needed. 3)Attends department, hospital and Advocate educations and meetings. 4)Uses correct body mechanics/lifting techniques when transferring patients. Obtains transfer assistance as needed. 5)Cleans soiled equipment after each use to avoid spread of disease. Completes more thorough cleaning as needed. 6)Demonstrates knowledge of the cognitive and sensory needs and abilities of pediatric and geriatric patients as revealed through departmental competency assessment activities and applies this knowledge when giving instructions, explanations to these patients as revealed by direct observation and patient feedback. 7)Uses proper three patient identifier for patient safety.
