As a Transporter, you will escort patients and transport items between patient units and ancillary departments. - Obtains supplies/equipment/medications, as needed, from appropriate departments and transports to nursing units. Obtains STAT medications from Pharmacy and delivers to nursing units.
- Assists nursing staff getting patients into chairs/beds/stretchers, and escorts/transports patients to and from ancillary departments. Responds to all Codes as assigned, to transport and obtain requests for supplies, medications, etc.
- Transport specimens to appropriate laboratory. Utilizes communication devices (bellboy, walkie-talkie) to respond to requests for service, and always maintains all devices in proper working condition.
- Communicates appropriate information to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients during all phases of transportation. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous hospital or patient care experience preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $18.19 - $18.19
