Summary of Position: Assumes responsibility for transporting patients and materials within the hospital and nursing home.# Inventories and fills over the counter General Stores products correctly and efficiently. Primary Job Responsibilities: Safely transports patients and materials (to include blood and specimens) within the hospital and nursing home.# Delivers Code Blue Crash Carts, Latex Carts and Urology Catheter Carts as needed.# Employs safe lifting techniques when transporting patients to and from beds, exam tables, stretchers and wheelchairs. Sets up different types of traction for patient use. Transports deceased patients to the morgue. Picks up requisitions for blood, pharmacy meds and slips from required units and delivers to the appropriate service; delivers stat, lab specimens, and medical charts. Inventories and exchanges oxygen cylinder and other gas tanks to maintain patient needs. Inventories and fills over the counter General Stores products correctly and efficiently. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent or currently#enrolled as a full time high school student. Some hospital experience is desirable. Required Skills, Abilities and Attributes: In depth understanding of technical processes in specialty field. Ability to apply preventative maintenance procedures on equipment and machinery. Ability to serve as a resource in specialty for team and organization. Strong communication skills to interface with team and others to ensure efficiency.# Ability to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job. Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive. Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with others. Must be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationally. Problem solving skills. Effective interpersonal skills.
