- JOB SUMMARY
- Responsible for the safe and timely transport of inpatients to and from the Emergency Department. Responsible for the documentation of all patient transports and the patient's medical records. Communicates effectively with all patients, coworkers, supervisors, and other hospital staff; ensures all transport equipment is in good and safe operating order; uses safety and assistive equipment at all times, utilizing proper body mechanics with the handling of patients and equipment to reduce the risk of injury.
- JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in healthcare is beneficial. CPR certification required upon hire or successful completion within three months of hire.Knowledge: Must have knowledge of basic computer skills. Skills: Must have organizational skills. Effective oral and written communication and active listening skills. Basic computer knowledge. Exemplary telephone etiquette. Abilities: Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with a positive manner with patients, families, visitors, health care team, physicians, administrators, leadership and other. Ability to maintain a positive and open attitude to change. Maintains effective relationships with clinical staff and managers. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed and motivated. Ability to demonstrate emotional maturity by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively. Ability to conduct needs assessment using a variety of strategic tools. Ability to use computer and learn new software programs. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and organize efficiently and effectively. Ability to document and communicate pertinent information using computer and paper documentation tools. Ability to think critically and problem solve while remaining focused and organized. Communicate clearly both written and verbally.
