RN Medical/Surgical Inpatient Orthopedics Night shift 7p-7a 48.0 hours/week with every other weekend rotation Department: Seton 2 Ortho Shift Timing: 23:00 - 07:30 Roles & Responsibilities Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare tea Hospital unit: Seton 2 Unit description: 24 bed ortho/med surg unit Nurse to patient ratios: 1: 4- 1:6 Patient population: Ortho post-ops/ med-surg # beds per unit: 24 Other staff/resources on the unit: LPN/PCT/Unit Secretary QUALIFICATIONS Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. The ability to stand for extended periods. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of medical terminology Passionate about patient care Graduate from a fully accredited RN program Minimum three years of current Med/Surg RN experience One year of Orthopedic RN experience Active unencumbered RN New York state license Requirements: COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills. Participates in relevant continuing education programs. Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients. Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise. A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
