Certification Details BLS ARRT Job Details Level 1 trauma and Siemen---s experience is required. CT license and ARRT (CT) required. Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information according to departmental protocol. Explains exam to patient taking into consideration physical and emotional needs. Maintains effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel. Calibrates and verifies the operation of all equipment to be used during the work day. Executes paperwork and Radiology Information System functions as necessary for each patient exam. Performs venipuncture for purposes of contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist. Attends staff meetings, in-services, and maintains appropriate CEU's. May oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department. Prepares the equipment room and supplies necessary for each patient and regular daily use. Participates in research programs, quality assurance and quality improvement projects. Assumes responsibilities for on-call coverage and remains flexible in all shift coverage and overtime situations. Transports and transfers patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative under pressure when performing patient exams. Job Requirements Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology. Must possess a current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent. 2-3 years experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses. Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients. Analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures. Schedule Information Staff will be required to rotate within department, divisions and all off-site clinics by shifts as required and needed. Unit Specific Information The position is for a CT Technologist. Additional Details Level 1 trauma center experience.
