About The PositionID: 52024639 Shift: Day DAYS; M-F: 8am-430pm 5x8 Hr Description: Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist with growing our IR program. This includes working with our current Radiology Technologist staff, assisting them with becoming competent in Interventional Radiology Procedures. This RT will also work with the IR staff in ultrasound and CT, assisting them in gaining the skills needed to provide excellent patient care to IR patients. They will also make suggestions allowing us to refine processes and develop workflows related to Interventional Radiology procedures, all the modalities that are involved in IR procedures. No call required.Essential Standard Job Functions:-Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line.-Anticipates set-up and needs for invasive procedures.-Assists with inventory/supplies as needed.-Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.-Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.-Administers medication in compliance with the scope of practice.-Documents accurately and completely.-Explains procedures to patients and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.-Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist.-Maintains a clean and neat work area.-Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging and related equipment; performs basic troubleshooting for this equipment.Department-Specific Job Functions:-Function as scrub and preceptor during interventional radiology procedures. -Work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.-Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.-Assess patients for allergies.-Assists physician during interventional procedures.
