**Job Title:** Interventional Radiology Neuro Tech**Job Specialty:** Interventional Radiology - Neuro**Job Duration:** 26 Weeks**Shift:** 5x8.0-hour shifts, with flexibility for 4x10-hour shifts**Guaranteed Hours:** To be discussed**Experience:** Minimum two years required**License:** Eligible for licensing in the state of New York**Certifications:** - BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) - AART**Must-Have:** - Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience - Interventional radiology experience preferred **Job Description:** - Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality. - Work cooperatively with all department members to resolve problems expediently. - Display flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability in customer interactions. - Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to patients' rights across all patient interfaces. **Areas of Emphasis:** - Administer oral contrast as required per exam. - Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations and assist radiologists during procedures. - Demonstrate competence and proficiency in operating x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems. - Report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead. - Complete all assigned procedures promptly and use time between procedures to benefit the department by assisting others, performing clerical duties, stocking, and transporting. - Understand the role in maintaining medication security, accessible to authorized personnel only. - Demonstrate competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups in own job category. **Documentation/Information Management:** - Demonstrate competency in the use of the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS. - Participate in hospital performance improvement activities like BPI projects and task forces when warranted. - Maintain confidentiality by using an individual password for all patient care modules. - Answer telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel with good phone etiquette.
