Job Details- Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, the LPN performs nursing duties in the care and treatment of patients on an assigned unit.
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge in the treatment of patients requiring nursing care.
- Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases and uses available resources in performing the nursing process.
- Performs timely, comprehensive, and accurate reevaluations and documentation at regular intervals as defined by the department.
- Contributes to an individualized and appropriate plan of care delineating measurable patient care goals.
Job Requirements- Must possess a valid New York State LPN license.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workers.
Unit Specific Information- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
Additional Details- Ability to work in surroundings with degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort.
- May be exposed to mechanical/electrical/radiant/explosive/burn and chemical hazards.
- Must be trained in and knowledgeable of all Kingsbrook/Rutland policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous waste and hazardous materials.
