About The Position**Job Title:** Locum Physician**Job Specialty:** Emergency Medicine - Pediatric**Job Duration:** 13 months**Shift:** Varied**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified**Experience:** Minimum years not specified; Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) required**License:** Active Ohio license required or willingness to obtain**Certifications:** PALS, ATLS, BLS**Must-Have:**- Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABEM/AOBEM)- PALS/ATLS/BLS Certifications- Active OH license or willingness to obtain**Job Description:**- Provide coverage due to the current providers being out on leave- The role involves working in a facility where 81% of total hospital admissions are received from the Emergency Department- Approximately 12% of Emergency Department patients are admitted to the hospital daily- Very low patient transfer rate at 0.002% per day- The facility includes a Level I Trauma Center with 59 beds and an annual ER volume of 101,692- Fast track services in the Emergency Department staffed by MD and APP, handling 40% of total ED volume- Supervision of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) and Residents is required- Use of EPIC for all documentation and EMR purposes- The facility does not require ED staff to respond to house codes- ED Physicians and Residents are responsible for writing admission orders; Admission Residents on Duty handle care orders- On-call physicians are required to respond within 60 minutes- Available radiology services include CT, MRI, and X-Ray, all available 24/7- 24/7 availability of laboratory services, including a certified blood bank and pathology services- Surgical and anesthesia services available 24/7, including neuro and orthopedic specialties- Consultant services available in radiology, critical care, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, neurology, urology, hematology/oncology, and psychiatry- Initial EKG interpretations by ED MD, later reviewed by cardiology- Coverage of flight, lodging, and car rental or mileage is reimbursed; preference for local candidates- Estimated credentialing timeframe is a minimum of 60 days1594338EXPTEMP
