Job Title: Medical Lab Technologist
Job Location: Louisiana
Type of Facility: Hospital (Level II Trauma Center)
Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: Evening Shift (12:00 PM - 10:30 PM), exact days to be determined
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform full clinical laboratory testing including CBC with Differential, CMP, PT/PTT, U/A with Microscopy, and Arterial Blood Gases
- Conduct microbiology set up, Gram Stains, and operate Cepheid and BioFire systems
- Handle blood bank duties including crossmatch, antibody screen, antibody ID, and emergency release of blood products
- Float between Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Blood Bank as needed
- Collaborate with a team of laboratory professionals across different shifts
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality control procedures
- Participate in rotating weekend shifts (typically every 3rd or 4th weekend)
Requirements:
- MLS, MLT, or MT with ASCP Certification (no other certifying agency accepted)
- Active Louisiana state license
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Proficiency in all areas of clinical laboratory testing
