Weekly Pay Range - $986 To $1095 Job Title: MRI Technologist Job Specialty: Radiology Diagnostic Job Duration: 9 Months Shift: Saturdays/Sundays 8am-4pm Guaranteed Hours: 15.00 Experience: Minimum experience not specified License: - New York State License (L.R.T.) - NY State IV Certification Certifications: - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified) - BLS certification Must-Have: MRI ARRT Required Job Description: - Demonstrate the ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks. - Perform MRI imaging procedures and operate or prepare specialized equipment for magnetic imaging. - Assist, prepare, and position patients as required for MRI procedures. - Apply the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality per written protocols and patient needs. - Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures, informing them about the procedure, area to be imaged, and any specific instructions. - Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions prior to scanning. - Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning from zone 2 to 3. - Assist in administering opaque media and/or loading power injector under aseptic technique. - Position patients and associated coils to obtain optimum study. - Scan patient-related documents. - Ensure all images are appropriately labeled as specified by the department SOP. - Assist physicians directly as required. - Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure images are transmitted to PACS timely. - Ensure radiology room and equipment cleanliness, including removal of soiled or dirty linen at the start and end of the shift. - Maintain supplies and accessories in the imaging room necessary to safely perform duties. - Accurately record all required patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System. - Schedule exams in the Radiology Information System as required. - Ensure all studies performed are completed in the Radiology Information System timely. - Inform supervisors or appropriate personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions. - Prevent the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols. - Attend in-services and other professional development meetings as required. - Maintain licensure in good standing, specific to the job, including adherence to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
