Job Title: MRI TechnologistJob Specialty: Radiology DiagnosticJob Duration: 9 monthsShift: Mid - 5x7.5 - Tuesday through Friday 12 PM - 8 PM, Saturdays 8 AM - 4 PMGuaranteed Hours: 37.5 per weekExperience: Minimum years of experience not specifiedLicense: - New York State License (L.R.T.)- NY State IV CertificationCertifications:- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified)- BLS certificationMust-Have:- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology- English proficiency (Read, Write, Speak)Job Description:- Demonstrate the ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks.- Perform MRI imaging procedures and operate specialized equipment.- Assist in preparing and positioning patients for MRI procedures.- Apply necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of diagnostic quality according to protocols and patient needs.- Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.- Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions prior to scanning.- Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning between MRI zones.- Assist in administering opaque media and loading power injectors using an aseptic technique.- Position patients and associated coils for optimal studies.- Scan patient-related documents and ensure all images are appropriately labeled.- Assist physicians directly as required.- Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to PACS.- Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment.- Keep supplies and accessories stocked for safe duty performance.- Accurately record all required patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System (IDX).- Schedule exams and ensure studies are completed promptly in IDX.- Inform supervisors or appropriate personnel of equipment repairs or unsafe conditions.- Adhere to infection control policies to prevent the spread of infection.- Attend in-services and professional development meetings.- Maintain licensure specific to the job, adhering to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
