Job Title: MRI Technologist Job Specialty: Radiology Diagnostic Job Duration: 9 months Shift: Mid - 12pm-8pm, Saturday and Sunday Guaranteed Hours: 15.00 hours per week Experience: Minimum of one year preferred License: State License in Radiologic Technology with IV Certification Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified), BLS certification Must-Have: MRI ARRT, Public Health, Radiology, IV Certification Job Description:- Demonstrate ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks.- Perform MRI imaging procedures and operate specialized equipment for magnetic imaging.- Assist, prepare, and position patients for MRI procedures.- Apply technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality according to protocols and patient's needs.- Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.- Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions.- Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning between safety zones.- Assist in administering opaque media and load power injector under aseptic technique.- Position patients and associated coils to obtain optimum study results.- Scan patient-related documents.- Ensure images are appropriately labeled according to department SOP.- Assist physicians directly when required.- Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to PACS.- Maintain cleanliness of Radiology room and equipment at the start and end of shifts.- Keep supplies and accessories in imaging room stocked for safe performance of duties.- Accurately record all required patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System (IDX).- Schedule exams and ensure all studies performed are completed in IDX promptly.- Inform supervisor or appropriate personnel of equipment repairs or unsafe conditions.- Prevent infection spread by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.- Attend in-services and other professional development meetings as required.- Maintain licensure in good standing, complying with regulations specific to job roles.
