**Job Title:** MRI Technologist **Job Specialty:** Radiology **Job Duration:** 9 months **Shift:** Mid - 5x7.5 - 12p-8pm **Guaranteed Hours:** 37.5 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum years of experience not specified **License:** New York State License (L.R.T.), NY State IV Certification **Certifications:** American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified), BLS certification **Must-Have:** MRI ARRT, Public Health, Imaging, Radiology, IV Certification **Job Description:** - Demonstrate the ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks.- Perform MRI imaging procedures, operating and preparing specialized equipment.- Assist, prepare, and position patients for MRI procedures.- Apply technical judgment to obtain studies of diagnostic quality, adhering to protocols and patient needs.- Provide patient education relevant to imaging procedures, including detailing the nature of the procedure and specific instructions.- Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions before scanning patients.- Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning from designated zones.- Assist in administering contrast media and loading power injectors under aseptic technique.- Position patients and coils for optimal study quality.- Scan patient-related documents accurately.- Ensure all images are labeled according to departmental SOP.- Assist physicians directly when required.- Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to PACS.- Maintain cleanliness of radiology room and equipment, including removal of soiled linen.- Maintain necessary supplies and accessories in imaging room.- Record all required patient tracking information in the Radiology Information System (IDX).- Schedule exams in IDX as required.- Complete studies in IDX in a timely manner.- Inform supervisor or appropriate personnel of equipment repairs or unsafe conditions.- Prevent the spread of infection by adhering to control policies and protocols.- Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.- Maintain licensure in good standing, adhering to relevant public health codes. **Schedule Notes:** 1. Monday to Friday, 12 PM to 8 PM. **Skills Required:** - Public Health, MRI, Imaging, Radiology, IV Certification, Administrative Tasks, Scanning, PACS, SOP, Aseptic Technique, Infection Control, Patient Education **Education:** - Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology **Language Proficiency:** - English: Read, Write, Speak
