Job Title: MRI Technologist Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Three 13-hour day shifts - Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: ARRT registered Certifications: BCLS certification obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter Must-Have: Associates Degree or Certificate from a two-year college, university, or certificate-based program Job Description: - Provide care appropriate to the age and condition of patients, including geriatric, pediatric, and general populations. - Ensure patient safety and confidentiality are maintained at all times. - Communicate the mission and vision of the hospital and develop effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and team members. - Perform procedures for MRI, utilizing and building protocols as needed. - Screen patients for any contraindications associated with the exam and adhere to safety requirements per facility protocols. - Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures, address patient concerns, and interact with a high degree of tact and courtesy. - Educate patients on procedures and answer any questions they may have. - Ensure the safety of both patients and staff by explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, and alerting staff to any dangers associated with metal around magnets. - Monitor patients at all times, both visually and verbally. - Operate other equipment necessary for daily duties and patient care. - Maintain a clean and orderly environment to promote good safety habits for patients and coworkers. - Maintain and report on equipment status. - Help monitor inventory. - Perform other related duties as necessary.
