Weekly Pay Range - $2755 To $3061**Job Title:** Nuclear Technologist**Job Specialty:** - **Job Duration:** 9 Months**Shift:** 8AM - 4PM, 5x7.50 Hr**Guaranteed Hours:** 37.50 per week**Experience:** At least 1 year of Nuclear Technologist experience**License:** New York State License (L.R.T)**Certifications:** - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)- Nuclear Certification- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification**Must-Have:** - Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program- Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)**Job Description:**- Engage in patient and family education; initiate and maintain quality patient care throughout procedures, considering patients' comfort and emotional needs.- Responsible for dose administration and calculations, perform quality control procedures, and have thorough knowledge and understanding of imaging technologies employed.- Use techniques that minimize radiation exposure to patients, healthcare personnel, and the general public through consistent use of protective devices, shields, and monitors. Follow radiation safety guidelines.- Recognize malfunctioning equipment and perform minor troubleshooting; resolve minor technical problems related to image quality and quantitative results.- Ensure safe handling and storage of radioactive materials during procurement, identification, calibration, preparation, and disposal.- Comply with federal, state, and local requirements and regulatory agencies; maintain a clean and safe work environment.- Collect, review, and assess patient data to verify appropriateness, contraindications, necessary consents, and pre-exam preparedness.- Use radioactive materials in specialized studies of body organs and/or laboratory analysis to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injury.- Measure levels and types of radiation produced and advise others on radiation safety procedures.- Evaluate factors such as temperature, pressure, and radiation intensity to determine if equipment is functioning properly; make adjustments to improve performance.- Monitor the disposal, recycling, and storage of nuclear waste.- Assist nuclear physicists, nuclear engineers, and other scientists in research and development.This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with a dedicated team while ensuring the highest standards of radiation safety and patient care.
