Level 1 trauma. The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if the patient's condition is serious enough for admission to the hospital or if the patient can be treated and released home safely. The Observation unit is a very fast paced environment that turns over 20 to 27 patients per day, with an average length of stay of 27 hours. The unit has 24/7 provider coverage. Care for a diverse adult population of both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients. These patients will range from short stay to full admissions. QUALIFICATIONS Work Experience Minimum of two years in specialty in similar size hospital Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record. License/Registration/Certification New York active uncumbered state license or compact license (if applicable) CPR (by the American Heart Association) BLS, ACLS - American Heart Association Education and Training Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or Employee Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred. Physical Requirements - Must be able to push, pull, bend, and ambulate without assistance.
