Travel Nurse - Operating Room - First Assist Rochester, New York, USA - 14642 Job Title: Travel Nurse - Operating Room First Assist Shift: Days and nights - 12 hours - three days Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 07/24/2023 Stipend: $1,281 Hourly Pay: $87 OT: 1.5 Weekly pay: $3,132 JOB DESCRIPTION 886 bed academic medical center. Level 1 trauma center Schedule-D/E/N ROTATING SHIFT SCHEDULES, Every Other Weekend (EOW), Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per Unit Needs Will consider 48 hours straight time.
- DaVinci experience required
- One year of EPIC experience
- RNFA is a highly trained RN who must have both a CNOR certification and have completed an RNFA program which is offered through a college or university.
- Collaborates with the surgeon and the healthcare team in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient.
- Practices perioperative nursing and must have acquired the necessary knowledge, skill & judgment specific to clinical practice in the operating room and in the RNFA role.
- Practices in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon in the operative phase of the perioperative experience.
- Performs duties of OR staff RN when not assigned in RNFA role-NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course.
- Robotic surgery experience preferred.
- Proficient in perioperative nursing practice-preferred scrubbing and circulating experience.
- No weekends, but will have evening call and rotating holiday requirements.
- CNOR required. Combined Circ/Scrub and RNFA role.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
- Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
Work Experience
License/Registration/Certification
- Current RN License to practice or compact license (if applicable)
- CPR (by the American Heart Association)
- BLS, ACLS - American Heart Association
Education and Training
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or Employee Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.
