null Department: Outpatient Clinic RN Required Certifications: BLS. RN would work closely with our Endocrinology team to help with Nursing interventions related to chronic disease management, specifically Diabetes and its sequelae. Bi-lingual English/ Spanish will be necessary. - # beds/rooms: 7th Floor: Internal Medicine- 12 Exam Rooms. Can freely float between this clinic and 8th floor specialty clinics. - Average # of providers in the clinic/day: 3-4 Providers on Internal Med/day; 7-8 providers for Specialty clinic. MAs and/or LPNs are paired with a provider, RN will be asked to cover multiple providers and be available as a resource. - Average # of patients/day: Internal Med see approx. 120 patients/day. Specialties see approx. 200 patients/Day. - Required Certifications: BLS - RN Job Duties: Primary role will be to provide patient education and care planning; Looking for someone is who going to have good customer service skills, be flexible and adaptable to changing needs of patient and dept, have a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and staff to ensure high quality patient care. - Common diagnosis: Internal Medicine: DM HTN, HLD, Obesity, Asthma, multiple comorbidities, and more. Specialties: Endocrinology, Renal, Dermatology, GI, & Psych. - Experience: Must have 1 year of clinic experience. Must be bilingual. Must be familiar with care planning process. Need to be good at providing patient education and care planning. Need to have good bedside manner. Need to have a willingness to learn and be able to take some constructive criticism. Prefer someone with DM knowledge. Will accept first time travelers. - Manager/Supervisor: Designated Operations RN who oversees both floors and is available as a resource. - Job Duties: Individual that does a lot of patient teaching on their diagnoses; care planning, ensuring there is no gaps in care or documentation, assisting staff as needed, to be a resource, and more. - EMR: All Scripts - Shifts & Scheduling: M-F 8-4, 8:30-4:30, or 9-5, 1 hr unpaid lunch; 37.5 hrs/week. - Weekend Requirement: Could be asked to pick up a Sat Clinic shift. - Holiday Requirement: None - Is there a call or standby requirement?: None - Floating Requirements: Typically floating to Primary Care, Endocrine & GI; could be asked to float to any clinic. - Scrub Color: Royal Blue - How many shifts for orientation?: 2 days of General Orientation; 1-2 days with Preceptor. - Do you use Medical Assistants or CNA's?: MAs & LPNs: rooming patient, patient intake/admission, turning over rooms, vitals, assisting physicians and other staff.
