Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care (Cardio IC) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36/48 hours rotating every two weeks Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRRT, NIHSS Must-Have: CRRT training, EPIC experience, flexible scheduling, willingness to float, experience with vasoactive drips Job Description: - Open to floating within the facility. - Experience in a busy, large Level 1 Trauma Center. - Self-scheduling to balance unit needs. - Weekend requirement of 6 shifts in 6 weeks. - Holiday requirement depending on availability. - Unit consists of 12 beds in one section and 13 beds in another, high acuity patients. - Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:2, occasionally 1:1. - Charge RN has patients most of the time. - One PCA available on the floor. - Intensivist model in-house. - Respiratory Therapist (RT) available in ICU 24/7. - Equipment managed by RT includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc. - Hardwire monitoring; RNs required to read strips. - Teal scrubs required. - 2-3 shifts of department-specific orientation with preceptors. - Experience with devices such as LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, IABP. - No call or standby requirement. - First to float out depending on competency. - Charting System: EpicCare Inpatient - EMR Core 2010. - Successful candidates typically have 3 years of experience, previous travel experience, and have worked in very busy hospitals. Note: Fluent in using Epic and comfortable managing all typical critical care equipment and procedures.
