Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 10-hour day shift, Days-0630-1700 or 0630-1900 Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 per week Experience: One year experience preferred. Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty. License: State RNlicense or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Must-Have: - Cardiovascular operating room experience - Ability to float within a 60-mile radius - English proficiency (Read, Write, Speak) Job Description: - Take responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/family. - Identify and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. - Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety through the nursing process according to care standards and guidelines. - Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, the organization's mission, and core values. - Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs, and evaluate patient responses to interventions to ensure optimal outcomes. - Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. - Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IV administration, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. - Provide patient/family education based on assessed learning needs and readiness, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching. - Recognize patients or designees as full partners in providing compassionate and coordinated care respecting their preferences, values, and needs. - Provide relationship-based care with respect for cultural differences and human diversity. - Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in compliance with state nursing board and hospital policy. - Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-efficient care. - Serve as a professional role model demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes. - Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individual patient and unit needs. - Use care standards, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice. - Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. - Precept/mentor new staff or nursing students as needed. - Seek learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice. - Maintain professional records as evidence of competency and lifelong learning. - Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice related to professional standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. - Participate in hospital and unit-based meetings, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities. - Use current healthcare research to expand clinical knowledge, enhance role performance, and increase professional issue awareness.
