Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day - 5x8 - 0645 to 1515 with on-call requirements Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours per week Experience: Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience License: Valid RN license required for submission Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Willingness to cross train into general OR if cardiovascular volumes are low - Experience with open heart surgeries, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and valve procedures Job Description: - Join a dynamic team in a unit with 2 CVOR suites - Handle 1-3 thoracic and vascular cases per day, including open hearts, thoracotomies, VATS, convergent procedures, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, and Stryker tower operations - Supportive environment with charge nurse available for all shifts - Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: EPIC - Collaborative call scheduling with team, approximately 1-2 times per week and every 3-4 weekends - Rotating holiday call responsibilities, with a 15-minute call response time - Option to cross train in other specialties if CV volumes decline, and float to assist other units as needed - 3-4 days of hospital clinical orientation, followed by EPIC class and unit orientation - Additional 4-5 days of unit-based orientation, with 2 buddy call shifts Benefits and Additional Details: - Sleep room and nearby housing available for on-call shifts - Attire: Scrub color/dress code provided - Flexible orientation for candidates with recent heart experience This role promises a collaborative environment for a skilled CVOR RN ready to support cardiovascular surgical teams and engage in a rewarding professional opportunity.
