Job Title: Registered Nurse - GI Lab / Endoscopy Job Specialty: GI Lab / Endoscopy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 40 Hours Variable Day/Evening (0630 to 1500 or 0800 to 1630) Guaranteed Hours: Not Specified Experience: Not Specified License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Endoscopy training/experience or sole focus on Endoscopy. OR nurses with Endoscopy training/experience are also suitable. Job Description: - Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients over a designated timeframe. - Perform assessment/data collection continuously focusing on patients' physiological, psychological, and cognitive status. - Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses. - Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient. - Formulate a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes. - Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them. - Implement care knowledgeably, skillfully, consistently, and continuously. - Perform documentation duties timely, accurately, and concisely. - Evaluate self-effectiveness, care provided by health care team members, and resources in patient progress. - Function with awareness and application of safety issues. - Perform efficiently in emergency situations and document events accurately. - Demonstrate advanced knowledge in decision making for assigned patient populations. - Consistently incorporate hourly rounding into daily practice. - Demonstrate self-responsibility and accountability for professional practices. - Manage legal issues in all aspects of patient care. - Participate actively in staff development activities. - Formulate effective working relationships with health care team members and patients. - Demonstrate sensitivity to patient/significant other rights. - Utilize current nursing research in practice as relevant. - Establish priorities of patient care based on needs and available resources. - Respect and recognize each patient as a unique individual, providing holistic nursing care. - Collaborate with the patient, family, and other health care providers. - Communicate effectively using appropriate lines of authority.
