Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Not required for submission Certifications: - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Basic Life Support (BLS) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - Experience with basic ICU equipment - Knowledge of common cases such as Left Heart Caths, Coronary Interventions, STEMIs, Temporary Pacemaker Insertion Job Description: - The Intensive Care Unit comprises 12 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios typically at 1:2. - Support staff includes a Respiratory Therapist, Patient Care Technician, and Health Unit Secretary. - The nurse manager may occasionally assist with patient care as needed. - Common patient cases include pneumonia, post-cath recovery, respiratory issues requiring ventilation, alcohol overdose (ETOH), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and more. - Familiarity with equipment such as GE floor mounted C-Arm and Table, Volcano System, Change Healthcare Cardiology Hemo System, and Getinge IABP. No open heart or neuro surgery is performed. - Experience with monitoring and managing various drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Levophed, Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Vecuronium, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, Heparin, and Norepinephrine. - Weekend requirement involves working a minimum of 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Flexible with weekend block scheduling. - Floating may be required to Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical unit, depending on experience. - The charting system utilized is Allscripts - Sunrise. - Orientation takes place each Monday with 8 hours allocated. - Cancellation policy allows for 3 cancellations per 13-week period.
