Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift 7 AM - 7:30 PM, Every Other Weekend is Required Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU and critical care/telemetry, 1 year travel experience preferred for travel positions License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BSN is required, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: EPIC experience is highly preferred Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating professional practice models and nursing processes based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved nursing standards. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, care planning, and delegation. - Educate patients and caregivers regarding their plan of care, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team members. - Manage assignments using the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model and effectively allocate material resources. - Role model Relationship Centered Care by facilitating various patient care actions and establishing therapeutic relationships. - Utilize evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care and initiate service recovery as needed. - Conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) on assigned patients, addressing key aspects of care. - Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care and identify opportunities for improvement. - Engage in institutional review processes and collaborate on quality improvement projects and nursing research studies. - Utilize principles of high reliability to avoid high-risk behaviors, ensuring a safe environment for patients. - Document nursing practice accurately to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. - Perform charge nurse duties and coordinate with the nursing management team for resource management. - Demonstrate cost-effective approaches to patient care and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. - Advance clinical competence, project a professional image, and communicate with care and respect. - Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and unit initiatives. - Acquire knowledge and skills relevant to the role, patient population, and clinical specialty.
