Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details A large system in Nebraska/Iowa is looking for a Night ICU RN for 12 hours shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. Must have 1 year of unit experience with Cardiac ICU experience. Job Requirements Requires 1 year of unit experience with Cardiac ICU experience. Schedule Information 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700. Weekend Requirements: Every other. Holiday Requirements: As needed. Unit Specific Information of Beds: 16 Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, DKA. Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin. Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10 RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret Floating Requirements: Mainly to PCU but can go to all areas in the hospital depending on abilities Scrub Color/Dress Code: RN: Navy Blue How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 shifts Additional Details Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2 with occasional 1:1 Fast paced, eICU remote monitoring system.
