Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Partum/Mom Baby Job Specialty: CHRISTUS Health - 516 Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty License: RN License in the state of employment or compact Certifications:- BLS required - STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) - NRP certification - ACLS certification preferred Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred - Experience in Perinatal setting preferred - Current certifications as mentioned above Job Description: - Practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of a clinical situation - Provide routine and complex care to patients in the Post Partum/Mom Baby unit - Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side-effects and effectiveness - Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given - Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers - Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans - Plan and evaluate nursing care during assigned shifts - Demonstrate patient safety practices to promote positive outcomes - Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and patients - Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competencies - Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations Note: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. Perinatal RN Residency or experience in Perinatal setting is preferred. STABLE certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses. NRP certification required at time of hire, ACLS certification preferred.
