Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; Every Other Weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Oregon License Required - Emergency 90-Day License Available Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Routine Nursery, and Intermediate Nursery - Ability to work independently and be a backup for other nurses - Capability to titrate drips Job Description: - The unit includes 5 Labor & Delivery Beds, 1 OR Suite, 1 Triage Bed, and 3 Postpartum Beds in addition to 5 LDRPs. - Approximately 340 annual deliveries, averaging 30-35 births per month. - Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient ratios. - Common drips include Pitocin induction/augmentation and insulin drips, as well as Magnesium Sulfate. - Charge nurse available on unit; House Supervisor present in-house. - CNA II unit secretary available; OB/Neonatologist on call 24/7. - Ventilator and Bubble CPAP are used for stabilization and transfers only. - Central monitoring for fetal strips; maternal cardiac tele monitored by ICU staff. - Shifts involve block scheduling; trades are allowed with weekend and holiday commitments. - Floating and being helping hands in other units is expected. - Scrubs are provided and a unit-specific orientation typically involves three shifts. - Must be adept at swiftly transitioning between various tasks or assignments during shifts. - The team can shift rapidly from no labors to multiple cases, requiring agility and strong teamwork.
