Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights, call required Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 3 years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ALS, NRP preferred - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, STABLE, PALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Couple Care experience Job Description: - Unit handles a variety of maternal and neonatal cases including Labor, Pre-Term Labor, Pre-eclampsia, Substance Use Disorders, and more - Mandatory call requirement of (4) 4-hour shifts per month - Familiarity with titrating drips including Heparin, Insulin, Oxytocin, Epidurals, and Magnesium Sulfate - Available resources include Charge Nurse/House Supervisor 24/7 - RNs not responsible for reading EFM strips but can do so if needed - Unit equipped with OB/Neonatologists in-house 24/7 and High-Risk OB on call - Support of Family Practice Residents and Neonatologists for consultations - Orientation includes hospital-wide and unit-specific training - Charting system used is Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR - Floating requirements are non-existent in this unit (Note: This job description does not contain discriminatory language and abides by standard best practices for hiring and recruitment.)
