About Us Our General Medical and Surgical units cater to a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. We manage GI issues, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders. Our patients undergo procedures like colonoscopies, thora and paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries.
Job Duties and Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans
- Communicate effectively with inter-professional teams
- Utilize the EHR and manage IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding pumps, chest tubes, and more
- Administer heparin and insulin drips, and manage IV therapy
Equipment Utilized - Epic electronic record
- Pyxis machines
- Accucheck blood glucose monitors
- Hospira IV pumps
- SCDs for VTE prevention
- Telemetry monitoring
Qualifications - Minimum one year of Med Surg hospital experience (Two years preferred)
- BLS certification
- IN State or compact RN license
Schedule Enjoy the flexibility of 12-hour shifts with a requirement of 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks. You'll float to areas in greatest need, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:5. Note that floating is limited to other medical units only.

Training and Orientation Our Jump Start orientation includes one day of general hospital orientation, approximately five days of nursing orientation, and Epic classes.
